I found yoga after retiring from a full-time athletic career. Although I was seeking physical relief from injuries I had sustained, I found a new source of awareness: a place where I could find a feeling of great peace and understanding. My practice continues as I try to bring that off the mat and into my everyday life.
Where else have you called home?
Victoria, Vancouver, and Ottawa.
What inspires you?
Anyone who is willing to make a change, even though at the beginning they may believe it is impossible.
Why have you chosen to work with Olive Tree Yoga Foundation?
OTYF is an amazing place that provides a platform from which great work is done in both local and international communities. Based on the principles of honesty and support, OTYF helps people help themselves. This is something I've experienced for myself and seen in others, and I find the work worth the effort.
What is your connection to the region in which you work?
I have no geographical connection to the areas in which Olive Tree works: but I am deeply moved by the stories of struggle by groups with whom OTYF works.
What is the best piece of advice that you have ever gotten?
It's ok to be still: that's where all the best ideas come from.
OTYF is a 501c3 non-profit organization registered in the United States
